One of my friends dads used to occasionally smoke with us when we where in college, a side effect of this was his insistence that we always listen to Thick as a Brick in it's entirety at least once and sometimes twice lol

Part of the must-have canon back in the day. Still listen to Thick as a Brick pretty often, partly out of nostalgia, but also because it's just a hell of a piece of rock writing.

For as amazing an album Thick as a Brick was, the follow-up to it- A Passion Play- was every bit as terrible.

Claypool used to do a great version of Locomotive Breath.

Haven't listened to them in years.
I consider them phase music, but a good amount of it still holds up.

I like A Passion Play.

One of the best rock shows I have ever seen was Jethro Tull on the Minstrel In The Galley tour. Simply incredible, it was easily the best staging and live production I had seen at that point. They pretty much decended into mediocrity after that album, nothing much worth the effort unless you have a high boredom threshold. I saw them again in '87 and they were a bunch of fat, grey-haired Brits. Mostly a boring show, other than the classic Tull stuff they still performed well, it was actually.little depressing to watch.

Love Tull.. when I was in 4th grade I took flute lessons cause I wanted to play like Ian Anderson.. I soon quit cause I realized there was no way in hell that was gonna happen. LOL...

I love Jethro Tull though and I have quite a few live shows and always fun to see live...

I have their greatest hits album. That's it.

Didn't someone in the band have a sex change?

i've never considered myself a fan and would probably never play Tull for my own listening pleasure, but if 'Teacher', Locomotive Breath', 'Hymn 43' or 'Cross-Eyed Mary' is on the radio and i'm within arms length of the volume dial, i will turn that shit up and tell everybody to shut up and watch me play air guitar

Was my favorite band for years, I own every album and saw them live every chance I got. Rarely listen to them any more, over exposed and burned out I guess.

According to your signature, you live in Aurora, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago.

Stand Up is an incredible album.

I had a nice vinyl copy of the My God bootleg, which I sold a couple years ago for over s100. Thanks, Jethro!

Haven't listened to them in years, but it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. They have a great stage presence and great theatrics
